He was throwing his head back and had a howling bark like finally, they are getting me out of here. But this place is nice. They are way off the road, have a big fenced back yard. I just wish they would take several of them out in the fenced back yard and let them interact with each other but they won't. I am going to tell them he is arthritic and has trouble with injuring his front paw sometimes and that to make sure they take him out several times during the day to walk around. I don't want him laying in that vet 24 hours a day without some exercise in that fenced area. That is if we do get to come. Still unsure of that for other reasons. My parents are in an apartment and don't like dogs, couldn't keep one there if they did and we cannot leave him with my husband's mother in the country because she has about 30 cats and i wouldn't trust her not letting him get out and get lost down there or killed on the highway. So we have no other option.
I couldn't agree more with you Audie. The thought of our girls in a kennel (no matter how nice) is just too sad. Boarding is not an option for us - in fact it's almost a form of cruelty. Pet sitters are the way to go if the 'children' must be left behindaudie said:i feel your pain here - i don't know what i would do if my parents couldn't dogsit for us - dory would be crushed if we boarded her, and i have no doubt she would make herself sick grieving for us. i would probably have to consider cancelling too.

Mermaid said:On the contrary, Beach Crazy, I think we're all crazy about your report! It brings the beach closer to us when we read about it at home. And thanks for the warning about beefing up the sunscreen. I got burnt during spring break and it was not funn. You'd think we'd all be savvy enough not to let ourselves get fried, huh?

kathydwells said:Great trip report BC. I can't wait to write mine. I think I can tell you what the stomache issue was. If you still have your gallbladder, it was a gallbladder attack. It happened to me. I thought I was dying. Went to the doctor the next day, and discoverd I had many gallstones. Took my gallbladder out, and I haven't had any trouble since. You might want to go the doc just to let him check you out. Since it happened right after a big greasy meal, you can bet that is what is was...Glad you had a great time at the beach!!!!!

Beach Crazy said:Thanks KDW and you are correct. I had another episode Sunday night and stayed in bed Monday, so hubby made me go to the Dr. yesterday. Right now I'm waiting on results from several blood tests. He thinks I may have had a pancreatitis attack in conjuction with the gallbladder attack. I've had fever and everything. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound of my gallbladder and he said we'll go from there on what to do. I don't want to go under the knife but I will if it means that pain will go away and never come back![]()
