I, and anyone who knows me, knows I am a Christian. My children have been raised this way as well. (Remember my kids, the preacher and the teacher?) It's who I am and the way that I live. My relationship with the Lord is strong and nothing comes before it. (not even the glass of wine or margarita I enjoy from time to time) Sometimes my humor may seem, not so Christ like. Please accept this, it's one of my favorite blessings. I enjoy postive uplifting posts, but don't insist that everyone does. They can speak their mind and it doesn't offend me. I have many friends who are not Christians and like hearing their thoughts.
Now, my brothers and sisters in Christ, as Christians you carry a great responsibility. Please try to treat people as He would. We are children of God, let's not beat someone with our Bibles or use the word of God as a sword. It only makes Him look bad.
No bashing or back-bashing should be happening here. Get back to posting and enjoy each other please with full confidence that God loves 30 gAy, beach crazy, audie and me, just as much as he loves Josh. I know I do.

I started to think that I should have thrown the book at the guy and whacked him in the back of the head. I felt like a sucka. Oh well, what's done is done, right? I walk on. Some six or seven miles farther up the trail, I get to a shelter and find about five other people who all had their new books. I think all of them were Christians if I correctly recall. We shared stories of the "gift," and all of us were pissed. What made it worse was when the other hikers pointed to a stack of more than 50 of the books in the shelter. These shelters are in the middle of the woods, with nothing more than a floor, ceiling, three walls, and one Trail Register. To see those books really upset me with the way these guys were "spreading the Word." It was more like littering. I could see them leaving one book in the shelter. It would probably be read often, but that was obnoxiously wrong. Someone mentioned burning the books rather than carrying all of them out on a long hike out, but none of us wanted any part of that. We all went against our principles of No Trace Hiking, and left all of the books in the shelter.
