Are you Smarter than a 5th grader?

New posts
If you want to humuliated, watch the show with a 5th and a 4th grader while you pretend to know the answers. I did pretty good, but didn't know the Big Dipper was part of Ursa Major--my kids knew it though.

I can't do my 5th graders math

or spelling. I am for sure not smarter than a 5th grader. I bet that comes as surprise to some of you. :funn:

I disagree...lots of smart posts made by you!! I am always amazed a what students are expected to learn and does anyone remember most of it??? The best lessons were learned in kindgarten..play fair. Of course I did not go to K so that would explain a few issues I have.:funn:

:floor:They do ask spelling related questions like this one from last night, that the guy almost missed by adding the word "the" to the beginning of the phrase. The host kept repeating the phrase to the contestant without the word "the," and said, "read my lips." The question was, "How many times do the letter "e" appear in the phrase (which was given verbally), "Pledge of Allegiance?"

Contestant: "let's see. There are two e's in pledge, one in the,..."
repeat

Host (that So You Want to be a Redneck guy): "Read my lips, 'Pledge of Allegiance.'"

Contestant: "Are you trying to trick me? Two e's in pledge, one in the..."

Really enjoy this show sans all the commercial breaks. Spell checker has made me stupid. Had trouble thinking of allegiance, wanted to put 3 e's in it:eek:
Had to get my first grader to help with the walrus question!:floor:

Loved seeing the one ladies 4th grader in the audiance cover his face in shame when his mom missed the teaspoon question.:funn:

O yeah, I missed it too.

That show moves so slow..................................

I know I saw that. I kinda felt sorry for him. This show does make me feel really STUPID. I kept asking myself last night, where the he** was I during elementry school!!!!! Oh yes, I remember I was in about 6 different schools by the time I was in 5th grade. So, that is my excuse and I am sticking with it.
