average wedding cost...

UUUHHHHH.....NO.....mine was cheap...I wore my SIL's dress, got married in an unairconditioned church (Aug. 12th...the hottest day of the year!) and the reception was at my parents house
 
my whole entire wedding including the reception and my dress may have cost $2000 but i seriously doubt it was that much....
 
Speaking of weddings, did any of you catch the new show on Fox, the one after American Idol? Wedding Bells. It was so funny.

There was an article on page 2 of today's paper about how marriage is now the domain of rich people. Poor people don't do it anymore, evidently. I kid you not.
 
i believe it mermy....if you get married you have to forego the medicaid benefits around here. this community seems to be turning into a big commune....
 
My whole wedding, including dress, reception, flowers, etc. was about $6000 back in 1992. If I'm lucky the divorce will come in about a grand cheaper.

I saw just a few minutes of it. Had Tivo'd AI, so watched that instead. It looks good. Will have to watch next week. You might have to fill me in on what I missed.
 
If you think the average cost of weddings is high, you certainly don't want to get a divorce, because the cost of divorce will make that $27,000 wedding cost look like chump change.
 
I just remember my wedding dress costing like $400.00 in 1977. :eek:
