Thanks for the Welcomes! I'm right here... in the Daughettes... saying prayers for anybody close to the fires breaking out all around us.

I had my own little fire yesterday. Was experimenting with drying herbs (really-- truly herbs -- lavendar!) in the microwave. Ended up starting a fire instead and ended up w/ FLASH FRIED instead of DRIED herbs. So glad I hadn't picked that moment to go to take a T-T! I won't be trying THAT little trick again anytime soon. Does anybody know where I can BUY dried culinary lavendar around here??

No place comes to mind, but you can hang the lavender somewhere to dry naturally, or put it in the oven on a low temperature for a few hours. (It also helps if you don't use a convection oven. It blows everything around and stuff gets caught in the fan. I learned this once trying to dry vanilla beans.)

Welcome - Dune-AHH, even though you are not really "new" to me. I remember meeting you last summer at the Washaway and we talked about Lane Bryant carrying size 12's (which they no longer do, by the way - lol.) I so enjoyed meeting you and hope you will post regularly!!!!!
