Not very politically correct. Actually it's an ethnic slur. He could have turned it into a humorous piece, but he clearly meant what he said.

If he wants to say that folks on the West Coast are apathetic, he's welcome to that opinion. But instead he painted Southerners as imbred idiots who are ignorant of everything but football.

Wow! I agree that Southerners take their college football much more seriously than other regions, but some of his comments were WAY off base!

His valid point that it is more important here because there are more good teams here got lost in the fried chicken and reconstruction arguments. :roll:
