Maybe laughing hard is what I need to do - because so far the medicine is not helping. Oddly enough, I adhere to a very high fiber diet and drink so much water I should float, yet somehow this happened. I think it might be stress related. I've already consumed over 20 grams of fiber today between breakfast and lunch. Oh well. On a bright note, I got to stay home from work today while I'm um...waiting.

Thanks everybody for helping me laugh at my misfortune - misery definitely loves company!
Oh I forgot that you have been on a high-fiber diet for a long time. Wow, now this is perplexing! What about downing some prune juice? :puke: It really does work. And do not eat any meat. That takes 2 - 3 days to digest!

Oh Lindab that doesn't sound like funn :( hope everything comes out ok:roll:
(an oldie but a goodie)

Well, I got tired of waiting so I decided to work a half day and take my mind off of things. Thanks for the continuing support - especially you Mango - I reread your posts - toooooooo funny!!!!!

LBH, something similar happened to me about three years ago. I was driving my dad to the eye doctor and I started to get the worst cramps I have ever felt in my entire life. We got home, I took myself to the doctor's office, and the doc told me she couldn't find out what was wrong. She said there was "obviously some sort of infection", and told me to go to the ER immediately. So of course I was terrified. My mom took me to the ER, we sat there until almost 3 in the morning, they did an ultrasound and a bunch of blood tests, and couldn't find anything wrong. The first thing they checked for was the poo problem, but that wasn't it.
Anyway.... they never did figure out what was wrong. But they still charged me a grand for the ER visit and ultrasound. And not only that, I had to fix my car afterward, because as I was leaving my house to go to the Doc's office, I ran into a tree in my driveway.

Hope the meds start working soon.

Gas pains.

Lindabobhat, Sounds like you're # 1 in # 2! Sorry, I just had to use that line. I hope you are feeling better. You might be interested in the Web site below, mostly with people with the opposite problem from yours. I simply could not believe this Web site, which I opened for totally unrelated reasons:

OMG - reminds me of when I had only been married to my first husband for a few days and almost went to the ER with ungodly cramps - but I decided to hit the bathroom and, um, er, well, I ran the water to cover up the noise and the pain subsided quickly.

Suppose I could share another funny story since we're on the subject - was at the Ob/gyn last month and the nurse wanted to know how I lost so much weight. Told her I tried to incorporate at least 30 grams of fiber into my daily diet to which she replied, "You must be quite a windbag!"

Linda, so sorry I'm just now chiming in. Hope you're feeling better real soon. My brain's functioning about like your gut, so I don't have any good one liners...at least that haven't already been used!!!
