Friends of ours are at their condo in Sanibel and they're having a wonderful time there so I can safely recommend it. They still haven't come back to Indianapolis, so there you go. ;-)

The Sanibel Moorings is beautifully landscaped and right on the water; I'm pretty sure there's a website for it.

Otherwise, we loved Miami, provided you stay in South Beach. The water's as beautiful as SoWal water. And I have to say you see a heck of a lot more interesting things than you do on a SoWal beach. I won't go into details. ;-)

Thanks for the suggestions, Mermaid! I did find the Moorings website. So, I guess Mr. Pod is telling the truth--he has said the same thing about the Miami water. No details needed! ;-)

Sanibel/Captiva for the win...we honeymooned there 24+ years ago!

We honeymooned in Ft Myers and drove to Captiva every day . There is some awesome seafood down there. Prawn Broker, Bubble Room, Schnappers (not seafood but the best hot dogs ever)

Still haven't made a decision; I have issues with vacationing anywhere in high season, that's just me. I think Mr. Pod wearied of it all by yesterday morning (and a phone call from John R) and said, "Whatever, we can just go there." (There=Sowal.)
