How about a quick cruise (4-5 days) out of Miami or FtL down south? You may be able to get a good deal that includes room & food for the same daily cost as a hotel room in South Beach.

Still haven't made a decision; I have issues with vacationing anywhere in high season, that's just me. I think Mr. Pod wearied of it all by yesterday morning (and a phone call from John R) and said, "Whatever, we can just go there." (There=Sowal.)

Great advice. Make it a convertible and wear your sunscreen. You'll like this so much more than just hanging around Miami (though you might enjoy a few days in South Beach before or after visiting the Keys.)

this is one of the only reasons (other than vacation) that i am looking forward to summer - getting my car out again...it is so lonely all tucked in under its car cover in the garage
