It is amazing that the legs of a race horse can even carry it's own mass when completely healthy. A big thank you to the owner for doing everything possible to save a living legend.

But I needed a laugh, and I y'all too.

I'm having a moment where I miss being in KY and around the horse buzz...although I have to make a confession- last time i was at Churchill Downs, I was with the Mers at the Stones concert! No horse in sight!

Oh, I am so sad about Barbaro. How ironic is it that such a strong and large animal resides on such fragile limbs? I was so sure that he was out of the woods until the report came out about problems when they changed his cast. Then it all hit the fan.

i was so sad when i saw this on cnn when i got up yesterday. i'm not sure the owners did the poor horse any favors by having him go thru all this, but i would have done the same thing. he was a beautiful animal...

I was at the Derby when Barbaro won.(50th Birthday present). He was a magnificent creature...I think the owners were correct when they tried to save him and also correct to euthanize when it became apparent he was unable to recover from his horrific injuries........
