never mind...the sequel

Oops! I still have my tree up (no ornaments), and some giant colored lights on a magnolia hanging over the driveway. Just too festive to take down and they make me happy.
OMG! I thought Beach Jacket was the only one who still has her tree up! I've been bugging her that I was gonna drive to Atlanta and take it down myself. But she says the lights make her happy.

My mom always said it was bad luck to keep Christmas decorations up after 12/31. As a result, we take all of ours down except the outside lights (with anything red or Christmas-ey removed) because we think the lights look festive for New Years.

We have neighbors that have at least a half dozen Christmas trees, and they keep them up until Easter. I forgot what the reason is -- they were featured in a newspaper article.

back to the toilet paper issue - i know you won't believe this, but i sometimes take the paper off the roll and set it on the vanity just to irritate mr audie.:D

I don't know about your neighbors, but my general rule of thumb is that Christmas absolutely must be dismantled before Good Friday. Think of it: it would be heartless to have items that celebrate Jesus' birth still hanging around on the day He is crucified. It makes sense to me and I bet it does to them.

SoWal Stickers, Part Deux...

They are now procreating in my washing machine. I just found 3 more, 2 loads after the first 8 were found. They must really be enjoying the spin cycle!

Those nasty little boogers!!!!

i'm surprised the stickers weren't stuck all over the washer basket, guess the water keeps them from adhering.

after vacation one time i washed the swimsuits/coverups together in a load, and was drying mr audie's trunks any my coverups. everything smelled like orangey coconut, couldn't figure out why until the dryer cooled and had hardened lip balm all over it. it was funn scraping that out. note to self - no lip balm in cover up pockets.....

I think every mother on earth has had that happen to her, except it's crayons instead of lip balm. :floor:

I so wish people in this area would TAKE THEIR CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS DOWN!!! Or at least NOT TURN ON THEIR OUTSIDE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!! It is just so weird to me. And it's not just 1 or 2 houses, I see a couple of houses in every neighborhood! Lindabobhat - do you too??
I understand (sort of) that it's to friggin' cold to remove some of it but come on.

LOL - It took me awhile to get all the indoor decorations down, but I quit turning them on about a week after Xmas. One of my friends couldn't believe it took me til almost the end of January to ultimately get them put away (but then again, I have had a lot on my plate lately!)

We had enough nice weather in early January for the outdoor decorations to come down - but I agree - if you haven't taken them down, just quit turning them on. A lot of towns even have ordinances for this now!
