Tales of Romance, Valentine Style

New posts
There's no getting around it. This is the week of Romance!

I was just wondering how y'all met your honey bunches of love, the one who makes your eyes sparkle, your spine tingle, and your heart go a pitter-pattering with joy and delight.
Here is some pitter pattering for you:

Never, ever ask FFF how we met. You will get about three different stories!!! None of them are true! One of them is about when he was a Chippendale Dancer!! I always love to say following this line "honey...you were a chipahoy dancer!!"

I love all these stories!!:clap_1: :clap_1: So glad I waited til I got home and settled down before I read them.

I was pretty recently divorced from #2 and had already been through the transitional man. Was still kinda seeing the t.m. For many years, I have gone to the Colonial Golf Tournament in Ft. Worth. 1990 being no different, I went to the golf tournament with 3 of my girlfriends. We had lots of funn and drank many of the famed Colonial margaritas. When we left, my most sober friend was driving, and I was in the back seat. We drove by mr. dd who was with his neighbor and getting into his car. Our eyes locked. I told my friend to circle around. He says he motioned for us to come back. We pulled up beside him and I said, "Where are you going", and he said, "wherever you're going". We went to Rick's on the Bricks in Ft. Worth and proceeded to get to know each other. We both had lots of baggage, and lots of things to work out, but a short seven years later, on July 4, 1997, we were married.

My grandfather met my grandmother in the early 1940s. He was this cute young guy in a Navy uniform and she was "the prettiest girl in California." (His own words.) She didn't want to tell him her age, because she was afraid he wouldn't like her if he knew she was five years his senior. They dated for six months and got married. They had been married for almost 65 years before he passed away earlier this month, and they have five kids, seven grandkids, and three great-grandkids.

And I really only shared this story because I have come into possession of some great pictures of them from their early days as a young couple, and I wanted to show off a couple of my favorite ones.
