Yes, but if you turn that logic around, you condone what's going on now. Rich folks taking care of their own. How does success in life preclude you from caring about those with less material wealth? Would you throw the same barb at JFK? Edwards actually comes from a blue collar background, and has litigated his way to the upper class, doing what he was trained to do, as a trial lawyer. He did not have his money handed to him by his family connections, rather he is self-made.

What a Robin Hood, that John Edwards...litigating himself into the top tax bracket. He makes me sick. What a perverse tortaholic, suing the crap out of easy targets, banking megabucks and spreading a few crumbs to his clients. The last thing this country needs is a lawyer of his ilk steering the ship.:pissed:

Thank you Skunky - you're my hero!!!!!!

Like Clinton, Right??? Terrible president, bad lawyer, bad. If only he could pass off a worthless energy stock{Harken], make 850k, then invest 800k in the Texas Rangers plus be given the managing general partner's job, a job given because of daddy. Now that's my kind of President. Break off worthless oil stock in others, and ultimately net 15 million. Uhmerika, land of the oil rig!!!!!! Where the self-made are scrutinized, and the priviledged are given the good 'ole boy free pass!

How does one break off worthless stocks to others? Can I pass off some bad stock to these folks? Is that any thing like the Whitewater land deal in Arkansas? Clinton a bad president? Many think so, many do not. The male Clinton thought 20 year old interns were on the menu at the White House , sex in the office with the help was not a problem and that lying under oath was completely acceptable. For any of these transgressions you would have been fired by my corporation within 24 hours. Now many think we should look the other way. Others do not. Now the wife, who could not manage her own husband is asking us to vote for her to manage the country.

But all that aside, as a former Democrat, I am open to vote for any candidate with a legitimate track record from either party. Like all of you I have certain issues that are of paramount importance to me.

National defense, homeland security, Taxes, Taxes Taxes, the phase out of Affirmative Action, etc

Your list will be different because after all this is America.

I was referring to GW's Harken Energy background. Read up and be prepared to laugh. You or I would have been prosecuted and jailed. Of course, you or I, would have to have served our country in Vietnam. I say all this having voted for the man twice. What an error! Looking back on the Philanderer-in-chief[Clinton], I would now choose competence over morals for the person residing in the White House. I was disgusted by William Jefferson, but our country was better managed during his tenure. Can anyone even begin to debate this?

And here I thought the Republican Congress in power during that time may have had something to do with this.....(managing the country)

Clinton should have been removed from office immediately for what he did and the Democratic party should have initiated this. There are too many politicians in both parties who get away with things the average person would be put in jail for. In my opinion the ends do not justify the means when it comes to basic morality. But that's me. I respect your point of view, but we just have to disagree on that one...

No, I agree with you. Clinton acted like the folks from which he came. My point was, agree or disagree about his affiliations, he was a good manager. The current decider is listening to no one, even his own party, and the results are not good. When we had Clinton we had opposing viewpoints, and compromises were forged. We've had 6 years of total Repub control of Federal government, and the legislative record is abysmal. Someone post on this board the gold standard legislation passed by the GOP since 2000. Does not exist. Like the decider says "you're either for us or against us". We need checks and balances, because that's the genius of our form of government. Arguing issues makes us strong, because the executive branch is less likely to act unilaterally.

:clap_1: ... I couldn't agree more! Well put.

We can let our blood boil regarding Bill or W all we want, but neither is running for prez in '08. Edwards is, therefore, he is a fair and worthwhile object of scrutiny.
