Good point. Actually if you book a flight the day of departure, they do the full check. That's why Mr. BR, Beach Jacket, and her BF were late when we had dinner with Miss Kitty et al. at D&K's in late December. They wouldn't allow BF to check in at the kiosk, so he had to wait in line forever at the ticket counter. As a result, he missed his flight and had to wait on the next one. They wouldn't allow him to bring his bag on board, and they checked every item in it. They threw out his new Carolina Herrera cologne even though the bag was to be checked.Since 9-11 the security has gotten tighter. If you book a flight less than 6 hours before departure ( as I had to do when my daughter was sick),expect a full security check.
Oh, Beachmom, this is so sad! Please let Mr BM know that our hearts are with you all. please let us know what we can do for you.

As for flights, the bereavement fares are better than full fares, but they still can be high. You could try travelocity.com and expedia.com as well.
Your husband could also fly into Boston and drive two hours to Portland, Maine, if you can get a less expensive fare. He'd have to rent a car, so you'd have to see if that would save enough $. And, of course, flying right into Portland would be easier.
Again I'm so sorry for your family's loss of the baby. So very sad.
Take her up on this! We're all here for you!I am so sorry Beachmom! If you want tell Mr. Beachmom he can drive up to Birmingham, stay with us and see if he can get better flights from here. Birmingham is an International airport and you can fly to most any city from here.
Let me know if there is anything we can do. Y'all will be in my thougths and prayers.![]()
BookingBuddy actually does that for you; it checks about 10 sites in total. What I did to find the cheapest tickets to AZ was to use those systems like PriceLine and Travelocity and then going to every individual airline that came up's site and searching that way.
