Hi ItzKatzTime: They're adorable! Are these the kind of dogs that people with pet allergies (dog allergies) can usually get? We aren't ready for one yet, but maybe in about two years. Do you have these puppies around every now and then or is this a one-time thing?

yes, they have human like hair, they do not shed. There hair has to be cut or it will grow and grow and grow. Next time you come down Paula you have to meet mine. She is 9 years old and the best dog ever!

one of my techs at work has two of them and they are just adorable. i just can't bear the thought of "replacing" dory at this point. i know i am crazy, but my heart hasn't healed yet, i don't know that it ever will.

Audie, I lost my 12 1/2 yr old Dobie about 5 years ago. We had had her since she was 6 weeks old, and was present at her birth. I didn't think that I would ever be able to love another dog. However, my son convienced me to go to the Humane Shelter about a month after her death. We were just going to "look". I was still grieving over Molly, but I went ahead and went. Well, I came home with my Angel. I call her my healer. She helped me to heal from my grief. I fell in love with immediately. I knew Molly would approve, because I am sure she did not want me to remain so sad over losing her. Don't think of it as "replacing" Dory, because you aren't. You are just giving another dog a wonderful home. That is how I looked at it. I hope that you continue to heal. It is a long process, and I still think of Molly on most days, but now I have two other little fur babies that I love with all my heart. So hang in there!

Kat, good luck to you. I can't imagine having to part with those sweet faces, but I know they will go to good homes and be loved as much as you love them!

For me, it was the best thing I ever did. I loved Belle so much and my heart was aching every day for her. I just didn't know how I would ever look at another dog the same. She was creamated and her remains are still with me. But, I took the advise of others and went out on a limb. This time I decided to get two hoping it wouldn't be this unbearable again if I had another dog with me. I ended up with Huggs and Kisses! Kisses was actually born on the same day I lost Belle, within the hour, :shock: which I found out after the fact when we needed info for the vet. I think Belle must've sent them to me. Two years later I am actually thinking about letting Belle's ashes go... might take a boat ride and spread her around Lake Murray! She did love riding on the boat.... I know it sounds silly, but you dog lovers understand!

i figure we will probably get another dog eventually, but for now i just feel sick when i think about it, almost like i am betraying dory. i know that's crazy but she gave me so much love and joy, i miss her every single day.

i just want to take some time and be able to take off when i want to and not have to worry about a dog-sitter. plus my parents wouldn't have been able to take care of dory this trip to sowal because of pop's knee replacement surgery, so i don't know what we would have done. i will know when the time is right, just like i did with her.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments about my fur babies. They just light up the room when they come running in. My daughter and grandchildren (the twins) are going to write a little childrens book called Puppies In A Row....telling about their experience of taking care of them while I was in New Orleans.

Audie my heart goes out to you. We all know that pain....at least most of us. I have had it many times over, as there has always been dogs in my home. My heart still aches for my sweet Yorkie....Scarlett.

Last night I slipped on wet tile and fell full weight on my knee so I will be on the couch all day....hoping I can walk tomorrow. Hopefully I will check back on SoWal tonight. Have a great day everyone!!!
