Is this true? Mermy please find out if this is true.

I don't know that for sure though it probably is true given that shampoo didn't come along until a century or two later. And we all know about those great big hairdos in the court of Louis the Sun King, the ones that sometimes housed a little mouse or two. So what are a few bugs dipped in honey compared to a furry little creature making its nest in your big wig?

If I were going to be a red head in the 1500s, I'd have applied sulphur powder and saffron to my hair to tint it. There were, unfortunately, side effects. This beauty came at a price. The mixture also led to headaches, nausea and nosebleeds...blech! Not tonight, dear, I have a headache.

If you want I'll tell you all about hair jewelry but ask at your own risk.

Go ahead, we're listening.

I can't resist a captive audience. :floor: In one of the French king's court, before the revolution, it wasn't legal to display one's wealth. I can't remember the reason why, whether it was from fear of robbery and pillage or what, but I do know that the rich noblemen and women chafed at the bit about this one. They weren't going to give up their shiny little bits of diamonds and rubies and pearls. So what they did was display their wealth a little more privately. Like on their privates. The women would braid their pubic hair and weave their gemstones and fancy ribbons in. When one of the king's mistresses was murdered, her body was dumped in the street and her skirts were lifted to show the ghoulish public the pretty little ribbons she'd bedecked her short and curlies with.
