Our fur baby

:( ...I am so sorry ladyd.

My heart is breaking for you LadyD - sending you hugs!

luvthebeach, there is going to be no bringing our baby home tonight. Just got a call from the vet. They did an abdominal tap of his abdomen and removed some fluid and put it under the microscope. He has peritonitis and unfortunately, way worse. They found many cells that resembled adenocarcinoma and believe it is widespread in his small intestine. They said they can send off the stuff to the lab and have it tested and it will be back to them in 24 to 48 hours. I don't see letting him linger and suffer any longer. Both vets looked at the cells and came to the same conclusion. They say he doesn't have much time. So it looks as if our decision has been made for us. I am crying buckets right now.

I have welled up in tears for two days now thinking about you and Mo. Now I cry buckets with you! God Bless you both. Max and Tilly( Labs) will also be waiting...and of course Scarlet, my sweetheart Yorkie, who passed on at 13.

LadyD you are in the company of so many compassionate people. My thoughts are with you and Mo!!!!

IKT:wub: :(

So sorry about Mo...:(

Maybe we need to start a SoWal dog thread- like the Grayton Dog Wall. An official listing of our pets, their pics, and a special section for when they pass on.

Sorry LadyD. :( I had to do the same once, and it was difficult, but I knew it was best for my cat.

We have brought him home for his last night. The severe case of peritonitis she said would start making him go downhill very fast in 3 or 4 days and with the adenocarcoma they are giving him no more than two weeks. At 7:30 in the morning our buddy will be euthanized and then will be laid to rest down in the country next to his mother and father. It will be a lonely house. We are going to miss him. Sorry to make so many people sad on here. I had to get this out of my system. I will be ordering a small grave marker with his name and date of birth and death to put on his grave like I got for his mamma when she died. He deserves that and more. My heart is broken. Thanks for the condolences. This is the hardest thing we have ever had to do.

I know. We just kept praying that God would do it for us so that we wouldn't have to make the hard decision. But it didn't happen that way. Take care, gull.
