This guy is nothing compared to my mechanic, Tiffany. Who used to be Tommy, if you catch my drift. Actually, she's still becoming Tiffany. It's an interesting process to watch. This guy could use some serious tips from my gal Tif.

I'm not joking. First time I went to this mechanic, he was a he with purple nail polish on. So I asked him what brand he used, because I figured if anything could stand up to working on cars all day, I'd want to know about it (being a gardener and not being able to hang onto a manicure worth a bean). So we started talking and he took a liking to me and every time I brought one of our cars in, we'd discuss shopping and girlie stuff and all the while, Tommy kept turning into Tiffany more and more.

I'm serious; it's a really interesting process. And I think I'm the luckiest person in the world to have a feminine touch on my car. That doesn't happen very often you know! It's kinda nice. Change my oil please, rotate my tires please, and do you know if Nordstrom's sale has started yet? I mean, talk about win/win at the garage!!

I wish! The funniest thing was last fall when fyl borrowed my old car, the late great Departed Durango, and the tires went flat on her. I told her to limp it over to the garage and that Tiffany would take care of it for her. Afterwards she said to me "Mama, what is Tiffany?"

Now she's used to shim but I had to do a lot of background explaining before she got the whole story.
