how did I miss this 1998 cohen brothers movie? just saw it the other night and laughed hard throughout. there are so many wonderful lines that I just gotta see it again and agian. I've never seen the "f bomb" dropped so many times in a movie. ever.

my favorite line is "does the pope sh_t in the woods?". but there are hundreds of other lines that are quite hysterical.

and for some reason, I really crave a white russian throughout the movie.

I hear there is an annual festival in honor of this cult movie.

This is one of mr. dd's all time faves. Guess I'll have to watch it now that it has the TSA....Tootsie Seal of Approval. :biggrin:

I used to looooooove white russians.

Picture this........one of my best friends for like ahundred years and I where in Tunica, MS with a friend that looooooooooooved to play poker (she could afford to, only child, no children, not married, everything paid for, inherited a ton of $$$, grayt job) and we would go with her, well........ my friend and I were not big gamblers so we sat at the poker machines at the bar, drink tons of white russians and could put in a $20.00 and play forevera and get free drinks (my kind of deal!) so were kept playing, and playing and playing! I go back to the room and leave her up playing.....she comes up later (believe me, I heard her!) and goes to bed. The next morning she is about to die.........sick stomach, nauseous, and she says "I think I have the flu!" and I say "yeah, the russian flu!!!:funn:

I will take this opportunity to say that I've always thought Jeff Bridges was way underrated as an actor. From Last Picture Show to The Big Lebowski to Fearless to The Door in the Floor, he has always been consistant--and superb.
The line about the Pope was something we always said in high school; when I heard it spoken in Lebowski I almost felt as if plagiarism was involved, but it being the Coen Brothers I let it slide.
The Dude abides. I don't know about you but I take comfort in that. ;-)
