Sinus or allergy problems

New posts
I've heard of sinus flush kits but this sounds awful. But the comfortable to use part I am not so sure about. But it might be worth a try.

I know it sounds kinda gross but it works and after you do it once, you know what to expect and it's not bad at all. I started using them last year when my dr gave me one when I had a stubborn sinus infection. It works really well for that too. The key for comfort is the temp of the water. Check it just like you would a babies bottle to make sure it's not too hot or cold.

Folks with allergies have been having a miserable season this year. If you want in on a well kept secret to sinus relief, go to any decent drugstore and pick up a Neilmed sinus flushing kit;it costs about $10 and consists of a plastic squeeze bottle and several packets of salts you dissolve in water and flush the sinuses with. Those who have used it are impressed with the results and (surprisingly) report it is comfortable to use.

Coincidentally, here is a link to when my ex-stepdaugher (still my daughter in my heart) was on Oprah a couple of weeks ago, along the same lines, skunky.

It looks pretty radical, but she swears it's wonderful!!

I have seen that little pot for sale at Whole Foods, but I think it might be expensive. Here is a link to what I am talking about...the plastic bottle makes it easier to judge the water temperature! You can buy the bottle and 50 packets of salt for less than $12.

Yeah, I think it is expensive. Yours is quite a bargain. Worth a try for sure! :clap_1:

It's called a Netti pot. Got mine for $12. Use it twice a day and it sure does the job. Flushes all the pollen away.

I saw this!!!!

That's my girl! Well, she's one of 6 girls I've had the pleasure of knowing and helping raise in my life.

Well, I purchased the sinus flush kit called Neilmed Sinus Rinse kit that Skunky recommended. It has an 8 ounce plastic bottle with a 8 ounce fill line with 50 packets of the flush product. Very easy to use and not at all uncomfortable to use. You flush one side with 4 ounces and then repeat on the other side. Heating 8 ounces of water in a measuring cup in the microwave for 30 seconds gets it lukewarm. I use the recommended distilled water. But you can boil water on the stove. Anyway the Neilmed Sinus Rinse kit cost me $10.99 at Walgreens and does actually seem to be helping some. Had no burning irritation in my nose all last night after using it at 7:00 p.m.! Worth a try for those of you who thought it sounded horrible as I did myself. But it is not bad. Can be used twice a day.
