The more power (phycial, political, or monetary) the male has, the more testosterone level builds, an congruently there is a greater desire for "risk taking" thrills. It is true of our ancestral apes, and it is true of us at this point in our evolution.

Except that someone will freak because I mentioned evolution, and that we humans have only partially evolved. Oh well.

I could see plenty of examples where that might be true, but if that is true for all males, it is very scary to know that men are involved at all with poliTRICKS, especially at the Presidential level.

Kitty, no need to check to see which elected governors and presidents smoke pot. I think it is a given that most of them do. They just need to lay off the cocaine.

"Approximately 46.9% of college students and 56.7% of young adults (ages 19–28) surveyed in 2006 reported lifetime use of marijuana"

Where do you suppose I found that information? You guessed it, the White House Drug Policy.

Good post SJ. I can't remember which comic used to do the bit about the difference between pot, coke, and drunk drivers. Went something like this.Coke drivers will run you over, drunk drivers will run you over, pot drivers will drive 15 miles an hour in a 45 to get their munchies.
