Weiner admits he lied

Weird, in a coordinated effort, three top dems, Pelosi, Schultz, and Israel, all call on Weiner to resign. I wonder if they know of something that's about to break, or if it's just cover for the party.

Honestly at this point I will concede that he may have crossed the line. Even though his conversations with the 17 yo girl were not sexual in nature, they contained content was present in his explicit conversations with the adult women. This makes me concerned about his intent. I saw on CNN that he wants to take a leave of absence and seek treatment. At this point his political future is not a primary concern.

Wait a minute, I thought he did "nothing wrong" now he is seeking treatment? Treatment for what, doing the right thing? Just resign, save your marriage first and then try to make a comeback.

It was his decision and the legalities are less clear than ever IMO based on the latest. I agree that the course of action you suggest may be the best one.

He should move out west and run for Mayor of San Francisco. They're tolerant of these kinds of things. Then again, maybe he should run for Congress out there and try to unseat Nancy Pelosi. What I'd like to see is a celebrity roast of Weiner.

Regarding other political liars...what I don't get is why David Vitter is still there, and why it is taking forever to yank out John Ensign?

Weiner Roast?

I'm old fashioned - I think elected representatives should serve with dignity and class. If their actions cannot be discussed when children are present, they shouldn't be representing us.

Weiner Roast?

:lol: Exactly! That would be a good first step to political recovery. I can hear Lisa Lampenelli's voice in my head right now. The next step would be a radio talk show, "Frankly Speaking with Tony Weiner". Next he should market his own brand of hot dogs. He should model his comeback after Buddy Cianci of Providence. All he did was burn a man with cigarettes and hit him with a fireplace log. He then got a radio show, marketed his own brand of spaghetti sauce, and then became mayor again. Of course a few years later he was convicted of racketeering and sentenced to federal prison.
