I know. It's exhausting just reading about it, but apparently this is a must in certain industries and spreading like a plaque. Believe it or not, I heard the training is a little fun. There's really no right or wrong answers.

Six Sigma is a [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_management"]business management[/ame] strategy, originally developed by [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorola"]Motorola[/ame], that today enjoys wide-spread application in many sectors of industry. Six Sigma seeks to identify and remove the causes of defects and errors in [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manufacturing"]manufacturing[/ame] and [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_process"]business processes[/ame].[1] It uses a set of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality_management"]quality management[/ame] methods, including [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statistics"]statistical methods[/ame], and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization ("Black Belts" etc.) who are experts in these methods.[1] Each Six Sigma project carried out within an organization follows a defined sequence of steps and has quantified financial targets (cost reduction or profit increase).

Yep. That's the paragraph that did it. :lolabove:

Sorry Mangy, I'm sure there is a substantive discussion here. I'll get out of the way. :leaving:

You know that Motorola no longer has the best track record. ;-) They're the kings of defects and errors; marketing.
