Beck's Ratings Crater

New posts
You know, you are getting more like another poster on this board every day. I chose to ignore him without the ignore button. I will soon do the same in regard to you. I am not a "Glen Beck worshiper" and even if I were, your post is insulting in its reference. If you watched him with any regularity, you would realize he backs up what he says with actual video of the other side saying it. He also continually says "do your own reseach, don't believe me". I do not always agree with him anymore than I always agree with Michelle Bachman or any other Conservative. The narrow mindedness sometimes expressed here is distressing to me. I often wonder if it is to others?

Please do so, I'm getting a little tired of you also except I won't claim to stand on higher ground.

Sorry, but Beck does pull a lot of his data and theories out of his arse - it's part of the reason why he refuses to go on other shows where he will get called on it.

All statements involving Glenn Beck
Quoting a member; spokesmen said otherwise

The Muslim Brotherhood has "openly stated they want to declare war on Israel."

Roots yes, but now rivals

Many of the 9/11 conspirators came from the Muslim Brotherhood, including Osama bin Laden, Ayman Zawahiri and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Pesky things like facts won't mess up his good story

"This town (Wilmington, Ohio) hasnt taken any money from the government. They dont want any money from the government."

He's right

"The federal government is now on track" for the second-largest budget deficit "in 65 years."

Lincoln Memorial is open for biz - and rallies

"The government is trying to now close the Lincoln Memorial for any kind of large gatherings."

Beck's count on census is flawed

"The 2000 Census cost $4.5 billion. The 2010 Census is set to cost up to $14.5 billion."

More Americans agree with Beck

"Sixty-four percent of Americans support the Arizona immigration law.''

People didn't live as long back then

"When Social Security started, age expectancy for the average man was 58. It was 62 -- 62 for women."

Only if you eliminate the final third of FDR's presidency

Franklin Roosevelt never allocated more than 12 percent of GDP to federal spending, while the percentage for Barack Obama is not projected to drop below 22.8 percent.

Off by one president

"Thomas Jefferson created the Marines for the Islamic pirates that were happening."

Chile's economy has grown, but Beck's rankings are off

Chile ranks third internationally in economic freedom, while the U.S. ranks 17th.

Only if you use incomplete, outdated data

Labor union president Andy Stern is "the most frequent visitor" at the White House.

Most of them do, to varying degrees

Less than 10 percent of Obama's Cabinet appointees "have any experience in the private sector."

No public option for Bo

"In the health care bill, we're now offering insurance for dogs."

It's the economy, actually

"Mitt Romney ... gave you government health care that is now bankrupting the state" of Massachusetts.

A questionable assertion based on questionable data

Forty-five percent of doctors "say they'll quit" if health care reform passes.

Three decades of flu shots since then without problems

"You don't know if this (the H1N1 vaccine) is gonna cause neurological damage like it did in the 1970s."

"Was," not "is"

Van Jones "is an avowed, self-avowed radical revolutionary communist."

A conspiracy theory of the left

Van Jones signed a petition indicating he "thinks the Bush administration blew up the World Trade Center and covered it up."

Holdren never endorsed these ideas

John Holdren, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, "has proposed forcing abortions and putting sterilants in the drinking water to control population."

Where's the video I spok of? Funny, you post statements from a "truth meter" who's verasity is suspect at best, and expect everyone to buy it. Well, I'm not. What I stated in my post is true. You can either accept it, ignore it or do whatever you wish. To me, it is immaterial and you may be right to believe I stand on higher ground, even though I do not think so. This is the last post of yours I respond to until you begin to make some logical sense to me which I really don't expect in the near future.

Glenn Beck telling his target audience to do their own research is like asking Helen Keller to come up with a color scheme.

And what do you want to bet he won't take this charity (that he maligned) up on their offer to show him what they've done?

Following is a letter by Bill Abrams, President of Trickle Up, in response to Glenn Beck's February 16, 2011, commentary "Three Reasons to Be Wary of Google," in which he criticized Google for supporting Trickle Up.

Dear Mr. Beck,

Thank you, Glenn Beck, for introducing Trickle Up to the millions in your audience. While we assume that your labeling us a "leftist charity" wasn't a compliment, we believe that you - and your audience - would admire what we do, if you got to know us better.

Trickle Up helps end global poverty by helping women start businesses, gain skills and save money. The values that we promote - enterprise, hard work, self-sufficiency - are ones that we would expect you to applaud.

So I invite you to join me on a trip to India, where he would meet Trickle Up participants who are now able to feed their children three meals a day instead of two, buy them their first pair of shoes and send them to school. Or, I'd be glad to show you villages in Guatemala, Mali or other countries where, over the past five years, we have helped more than 45,000 women and their families move up out of extreme poverty.

Trickle Up is supported by thousands of donors - individuals, corporations, foundations and the US government - who share our commitment to reducing poverty and inequality. We are very proud to have Google, the subject of your recent commentary, among them. Mr. Beck, we believe that ending poverty transcends politics and that, if you saw what we do you'd agree with us that lifting a woman out of extreme poverty is important to people on both sides of the political aisle.

My email is abramsw@trickleup.org, so please send me some dates that you'd be free to travel with us, to see how Trickle Up helps end poverty.

Sincerely,

Bill Abrams

President

Trickle Up

I am almost able to get my brain wrapped around this.

You believe Glenn Beck's paranoid assertions but write off Pulitzer Prize Winner Politifact's verasity as being "suspect at best". And you question the logic/sense of *Poppy's* posts?

Andy, you have a bright future working as an advisor to the Palin/Bachmann campaign!
