Ok...the decorations are put away..Now my house looks blah, empty. Such a let down..anti-climactic...BLAH! :bang: :(

Well it's still festive around here (well as festive as things can be when you still share a house with the future ex-hubby!) I never seem to be able to get all the decorations down until at least the middle of January (wish I could say the same for the future ex - but he'll be out by the end of the month!!!!)

:clap_1: :clap_1: :clap_1:

The last of the boxes are just waiting for someone to take them to the attic.

I agree, I just got the last thing put away too. I looked around and though....it needs more color!

I always think the same thing after all the Christmas stuff comes down. I guess this a good time to do a good house cleaning.

Ladies, ladies, listen here.
De-Xmasfying your home should be done slowly so as not to shock the psyche. :nono1:

You start with balls and small amounts of decor which you replace with frames even if you use the picture of the unknown person in the frame.
Then gradually work your way to lights. Dispose of tree and always leave some greenary around. When Valentines day rolls around and you can replace with pink and red (which BTW- what the he!! was that thread about?) you may discard the green and or man who does not give you any bling.

I arrived home to Christmas lights blazing outside and a house full of decorations. But, the warm hugs and kisses from Molly made it all okay. I think I will leave my faux woodland tree up sans ornaments...jdarg told me I could.

I thought about leaving up the tree and decorate it for each holiday:

New Years Day
Presidents Day
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Valentines Day
Mardi Gras
St. Patrick's day
Easter
Memorial Day
4th of July (also my birthday!)
Labor Day
Halloween
Veterans Day
Thanksgiving
Christmas

Oh...imagine the possiblities!
