I love this thread. I knew when we took a chance and moved here, it was scary. But it was nice to be in a place where none of us knew anyone. Now all of us know a lot of great people. People that i would never have known had we not taken a chance. I miss friends from all over, but a new and different place is never a bad thing. Someone told me once, "Always be up for a road trip". I was, I am, and always will be.

Hope everyone is doing well and I hear it finally cooled off a bit! Thank goodness. I know it was a hot summer. We are getting adjusted here and I almost have completed all the requirements to take my RE license exam. Then it will be back to work! I sure have enjoyed the break. It is sometimes a struggle to slow down and smell the roses. I use to always feel like I had to be doing something. This break has been real good for the family. Bev and I have grown closer and for a change have learned to just enjoy doing nothing. Getting busy will become natural so we have really tried to focus on just being OK with knowing that we will be OK. Thanks for all the support. We love you all. Enjoy the pics.
Brody has now taken up Volleyball!

....repeat after me:

"Now is a great time to slow down and smell the roses."

Keepin' it real,

Shel.

I love this thread Bobby J. I wish you all the happiness and adventures you are looking for (and absolutely deserve).

I can relate - we just turned our lives utterly upside down this summer when we moved up to the Boston area. We absolutely LOVE it, and are amazed how easy the transition has been. We have met a ton of good people already and are seeing and doing a ton of new things! That said, the trauma of moving hasn't quite hit me yet. It is hard to think of the people I saw all the time and just won't anymore. I miss them, and all the stuff and places we were attached to. :( And family, of course, is another story altogether.

But from a personal growth standpoint, a big move like this just can't be beat. :D

Love to you all!

Stop it!! You are making me want to move........

Just stopping by to check in on my Sowal Family! Hello all! We are all doing well and I must say, Brody has probably adjusted better then his parents. He loves school. He has lots of new friends and has a job offer from a local TV station. They stopped Bev on the streets the other day and asked if Brody would be interested in coming in to talk with them for some commercial work. They like his "California look". Ha! So he will have all basis covered before we even get started. It figures. I am surfing a bunch as you can imagine and take my RE test on Tuesday. Hopefully, after that I will get back to work. I sure have enjoyed this time with my family and feel the time alone has made this a worthwhile adventure. Bev is still looking around at different job opportunities but we think her main job at this time is making sure Brody is comfortable. So as usual, Bev is doing a remarkable job. Hope to see you all soon and have had Sowal on my mind a lot lately as October has always been stunning. Take care friends and love to all. Be safe and enjoy life.

Bobby J

You picked the right day to check in. We had our first spit of rain in a month and it's been over cast since about noon.

Remember Brody, parents can only take "reasonable" expenses from your earnings.
