For parents here with a teen learning to drive, this timing difference caught my eye: in Florida, teens in the modeled pathway must log 50 supervised hours over a 12-month permit hold, while the same 50 hours in California or New York spans only 6 months. So the same hour total means very different weekly pacing — about 1 hour a week in Florida, versus about 2 a week in California and New York — and finishing the hours early doesn't erase the holding period. That slower spread might actually suit a lot of South Walton families, but it's worth planning around if your teen is counting down to a license date.
