My maternal grandparents came through Ellis Island in the 1920s from the old sod. That Irishman in the joke? To her dying day that's what Grandma Lucy sounded like. She used to tell dirty limericks. The raunchier the better.

Mermy, mr. dd's grandparents came through EI too on the sister ship of the Titanic, Olympia. I think it was in 1913. They settled in Illinois. Pretty interesting story..
