Allifunn, I was born and raised there. Got to go to the Masters one time. My boyfriends grandmother had tickets every year. The year she died, they sent the tickets anyway so we went. The Course is beautiful !!! I watched the last round and thought Tiger was going in for the kill. Don't get into golf much, but the Master's is the only way people know where I'm talking about when I say I'm from that area. Glad you got to go. :clap_1:

Sunspot...I really didn't get to the Masters, but I did work in a hospitality house and enjoyed the air of excitement that revolves around the event.

Most of what I did was help keep up buffet lines on the 2 floors of the Azalea Hospitality House. I was working with 6 very talented chefs and I learned alot about my profession! I stayed in a rented house, a few blocks from the course with 3 men. I got there last, so I got to sleep in the living room on a roll away that was about 5 feet long. I got up every morning around 4:15, showered and rode to the house with Kevin, while the other 2 chefs were already at work. I housed with the head chef, who was one of my professors at the culinary school.
My day consisted of cutting fruit, preparing fruit trays for breakfast, lunch and cocktail time. Lunch was 7:00-10:00 ( but some days we kept the lines open until 11:00) There were 2 buffet lines, one on each floor. I helped out on the breakfast line, making pancakes and omelets. I ran up & down the steps, getting food out and doing what ever needed to be done. Then I assembled cheese trays and vegetable trays for the cocktail buffet. I helped keep the lunch buffet stocked. Lunch ran 11:30-3:00. A carving station and specialty sandwich were included in the buffet line every day. At 4:00 I was on the top floor carving station 4:00 till 7:00 (or later) every day. Usually at 8:00 we had small dinner parties to prepare for. I helped plate up food. The hospitality house was owned by a coorpration and rented out space to corporate sponsors for their clients. The rental included driving service, full food and bar, passes to the tournament and additional perks. They were paying big bucks...so everything had to be top notch. We usually got out of there around 10:00...so folks, that means that I was working 17 hours a day...and actually loving it! On Friday we did the traditional thing...we went out and partied!:clap_1: We started out at a real dive of a place on Washington St. with bar food. We met up with some other people and went on th Cadallacs...dance bar. We started doing Jajer (sp?) shots...and that is all I remember....:funn:  ...I know I danced alot! We got in around 3:00, slept for 1 hour, got up and went to work.... Some tradition...huh??
I have to say that if it was a test...I passed...I got up (still drunk!) and got to work....my motto "work hard...play hard!"
I must have done a pretty good job...cauz the owner & head chef all invited me back next year. These jobs, although hard, are much sought after...a crazy time, but good pay and a real rush!
It only happens once a year...but it is one hell of a week! You truly learn what you are made of!:clap_1: As crazy as this sounds...I loved it...but I can wait another year...I'll need it to recover!
RO...the only pics I got were of the bag pipers that came to the house every day to play for about an hour around 7:00
I met some great people and this will look great on my resume! I also have some great references now!

Afunn...we both need a vacation after that...it wore me out just reading it! But, when you are doing something you love, sleep is underrated!! I can certainly understand the invite for next year...you are a rockstar!! :clap_1:

It is absolutely something that I would do ONLY once a year.....

I think I am entirely too lazy for the Masters.

Allifunn sit down, put your feet up. Sip on something with a drop of alcohol in it. :D
