Jdarg Trip Report Please

[Beach Runner]

We used to drive over to Cedar Key when we lived in Gainesville to eat fresh seafood (couldn't seem to find any in Gainesville ). It's such a quaint little town -- we have fond memories of it. We still have a potholder (the only souvenir we could afford as grad students) that says "Cedar Key Fish & Oyster Co." Beach Jacket loves it (the potholder) because it's so kitschy.

Glad you had a good time, jdarg. Sorry you missed the partay. We missed you.

The only bummer of the weekend was the big event- the Airboat Fishing Tournament. OMG- I have never been around 1 airboat, much less about 100 of them. Loud and obnoxious does not begin to describe the sound of them, and the 6 am shotgun start on Saturday morning was hopefully the closest I will ever come to having a heart attack. We had the window open in our bedroom to hear the waves- I didn't know!

The rest of the day, people apologized every where we went- "It is usually quiet here- this is the one weekend a year that we hate!!" I guess we didn't look like airboat people! The locals don't like the air boats either!

this sounds like the harley rally in Myrtle Beach.....:shock:
The locals hate this week...but love it too, puts $$$ in the pocket!

Jenny, I'm soooo glad you enjoyed your weekend. And, I am soooooooooo glad I got to meet you finally!! That is the one part of the evening that I have total recall of. You were delightful. I'm just sorry you were the dd and couldn't get as stupid as some of the rest of us....ok....me.

Actually, I am glad I was the DD. I wouldn't have wanted to forget one moment of last Thursday's Live S/D/C ! One of the major SoWal funn nights ever! And I didn't even make it to Grumpy's....
