Last day of school?

New posts
My baby girl teaches 1st grade or I wouldn't know this, but tomorrow is the last day of school here. They return the week of August 13 I think.

I agree summer for kids these days is nothing like we had. The poor little things get cheated. It felt endless when we were kids. Didn't you just love the feeling on that last day of school? By the way, our Sowal kids are sure smart!! Congrats on all the good grades!!! Happy Summer, get out and play!

Being able to check grades online has helped a whole lot with Jesse. He knows I check grades about 2 or 3 times a week, so he has to keep them up. If he doesn't, then bad news for him. Congrats on Sam's grades. I don't do Math either, never have. I have to use one of the cheaters tip cards.

 that's okay we still  ya. Dylan gets frustrated with me when I can't help him. (4th grade) It's pretty sad.

At Sam's school they post grades periodically. They all have a random number and grades and numbers are posted so no one knows anyone elses grade. I like the online system and wished we had that.

Most Florida schools were starting the first or second week in August until this year. Way back when, I remember starting the week before Labor Day, mainly to get the first few days out of the way so that work in earnest would begin on Tuesday.

L'il Pod #1's last day was yesterday, because he graduated from 8th grade last night! He was the salutatorian (= one B among all A's for the last 2 years), there were 8 valedictorians, all 9 got to give speeches. :yikes: The rest of the Pods (minus Littlest, who graduated from preschool last week) get out the 31st, with a stupid one hour pick-up-your-report card day. :bang:

 We went in there the other day looking for a t-shirt, and the girl who worked there clearly had no idea what/who we were talking about. #1 was horrified.
Thanks!

:D Seems a little surreal to have 2 graduates headed in such different directions--high school and kindergarten.
Miss Kitty just asked me this yesterday, and I didn't know the days, but we leave home June 8!

Wow! You are on the short countdown then! I hope all the peas have a grayt vacation. How's that transmission?

Most of the schools (public and private) in the Atlanta metro area got out this past Friday.
