Then take the argument on the merits. First, what are you feelings on Jim Bakker? Second, how do you feel about minorities being discriminated against when it comes to academic admission? By, the way, the minorities I'm speaking of are Asian, not black. At Berkley and Harvard, they are pushing away qualified Asian students based on the color of their skin so they can admit more black and Hispanic students.

Jim Bakker? How does he fit into this? Talk about apples and oranges. He contributed zilch to society. He and his wife stole and lied and cheated so many people- financial adultery that ruined many lives. Also, he is hardly held up as anybody that ever actually made a difference in anything or to anybody, other than a negative difference in bank accounts, and building Heritage USA (is that place still in existance? Google time!) Hardly a good comparison- try again.

As far as Jim Bakker, what Jdarg said above is my opinion.

As far as Asian students being pushed away who are qualified it just equates to numbers. Far more Asian students make application to prominent universities vs. Blacks and Hispanics.
Here is link to a affirmative action study done by Princeton University
The conclusion of the study is the negative impact on African American and Hispanic students if affirmative action practices were eliminated.
Would you prefer a spot went to an unqualified student whose white parent made a large contribution to the university? which BTW- happens all the time.

I you Alli .....however, neither conservatives or liberals can be put in those boxes. One of the boxes is completely negative and one is completly positive. Individuals are individual. I am an enlightened, tolerant conservative, definitely interested in change. At the same time, one can be conservative in one area but not another. Politics sucks when you are suppose to choose a side and get in their box.

Thanks for that SM. I think many politicians would like to consistantly point out our differences, while in so many things, we are all very much alike. IMO it would benifit us all graytly to identify the things that make us alike and bring us together, and quit bickering about the things that are different. I'm not saying that everyone should "be" alike, just respect the differences and find more solutions.

Amen , Amen, Amen. IMHO, labeling is the collective problem in so many areas of our lives.
