Occupancy and Layoffs...

Yeah, it's scary. We would normally have many weeks of rentals in August and September. This year we have zero.

So Pepper and I will spend several weeks at the beach during this time period. Mommy/poodle bonding.

I guess I'll play the part of of the optimist, the U.S. is experiencing a slow down, but the numbers just don't point to a recession. I think we're in the final stretch, we weathered the subprime / bank failure thing pretty well. I think we'll come out of this by next year.

Thanks for the optimism!! I agree that things are going to get better. However, does anyone want to chime in on what the banks are going to do when the govt starts pushing them to foreclose more properties? It is my understanding that the more banks foreclose, the more cost they have to cover due to the fact that not many people are springing for the 4 and 5 million dollar houses that they financed. When they foreclose, stock prices drop even more. I know that I have seen Regions stock go down MORE THAN I CARE TO TALK ABOUT!!!!!!

I don't see the government forcing banks to foreclose since that would most likely lead to massive bank failures. More likely they will let them get even more creative.
