WOW - what a nice photo. Thanks for sharing. I think I would have freaked out seeing that him in a room with me :yikes: Glad you were able to get him out safely.

Great picture! That was a scared little owl according to his eyes and talons. I'm glad he's made it back to mom and pop.

Wow, what an awesome pic! Thanks for sharing Staci. Can you imagine how big mom and dad's talons are? Poor little guy, he does look scared. Glad you got him out safely.

I bet that owl would have spooked you LadyD!

I don't think it would have spooked me with it being daylight but I will tell you one thing Skunky. I was outside on our driveway one night getting something out of the car and heard this noise coming from a pine tree right above me. I couldn't see anything but it scared me so bad I went flying back up the steps onto the walk stumbling over the steps at the same time and flew up the porch steps and into the house. We got a flashlight and came back outside and shined it up in the tree and it was a big white owl. It sat there a while looking down at us and then flew across our yard and on across the street to another tree. It's the things you cannot see at night but can hear that scare you.

One of the coolest things I've experienced in nature was at a girl scout camp out with Sam. This was a memorable evening for 2 reasons. One being it almost never stopped raining. I complained and whined but no one else seemed to mind. :idontno: We cooked spaghetti over an open fire and ate it while draining the water off our plates. Yes, I thought the leader was a bit crazy. But the second thing is the coolest. We were very lucky to have a naturalist as a leader. After it stopped raining it cleared up and we set off on a night hike. She showed us and named all visible constellations in the sky and all the history behind them. Really cool. I really wish this old brain could remember half of what she told us. THEN she called in owls. http://www.elca.org/camps/handbook/calling.htm It was the most amazing thing. We heard several come in but couldn't see them. They were all taking to each other. Then we saw a big beautiful snowy owl fly overhead. Thinking about it it still gives me chills. Looking back I guess suffering through the rain was worth it.

wow...beautiful...we get some goliath owls in dune allen...to look up and see that silhouette is so cool....one was out there eyeballing my cat one day...

The poor little thing was scared when I got in a little closer to snap a better shot.
Prior to that I was able to take a bunch of pictures of him from a distance and he actually appeared to be rather relaxed considering he was trapped in my screen porch.
I was talking to it in a soft tone and it began falling asleep.

I miss him already :(
