What 3 items do you take camping that you can't live without (other than the obvious like water and matches)?

sorry, but i am NOT a camper - my idea of roughing it is staying at a hotel without movie channels. i want running water and all the luxuries. :D

Are you camping out for concert tickets or really camping? If it is the later, and you are doing it with your kids....

my hubby's family camped all the time, he had never stayed in a hotel until our honeymoon. the one time i went camping with them, it was 110 degrees out in the shade, it stormed terribly overnight and the air went out in the trailer, and a skunk got into the campsite - peeeeuuuuu! that pretty much told me i was not a camper.

I'm trying to warm up to the idea- really camping.

RO- do you take a generator for the coffee maker? I'm liking this a bit more if I can have a real coffee maker!

Well, there is car camping and there is camping.

tent, sleeping bag, Thermarest, small pillow (much more comfortable than a wad of clothes)

Swiss Army knife (w/ corkscrew and can opener), ear plugs, tp (toilet papert), chopsticks or spoon.

If you are car camping and other people will be around, the standard requirements are

-Loud radio with many batteries that plays really well after dark.
-Many battery powered lanterns so that the campsite glows like neon lights.
-Much alcohol that can be consumed late at night which helps you yell louder than the person sitting across the lantern from you.
-big balls to have the nerve to do it.

your supposed to make the coffee in an old fashioned perker over the fire! ....I think camping would be funn  ...for a FEW DAYS....then its back to civilization for me!! One of my best memories is of camping in a park in Cape Hatteras NC...with my family and another family...it was soooo much funn!!! I don't know how my parents liked it but I can assure you there was A LOT of alcohol involved!!!!! My mom actually did cook and make coffee over a fire with a grill on top....best eggs and bacon I ever had!!
Just relax and enjoy it Jenn....and remember..nothing lasts forever  ...make sure you have rain gear and somekind of padding if you are on the ground

No, it sits on a Coleman stove and acts just like a Mr Coffee instant coffee maker (Cause thats what it is). It uses the heat from the stove burner instead of electricity. It is a lifesaver
