Some great points being made here. From your posts, I have come to the following conclusion: Never learn to do it properly if you don't want to be the one always doing it, no matter what the task may be.

You have no idea how true this is! :clap_1: It especially works great if you are under 12. ;-)

Well, SJ, it wasn't really an argument, just a friendly wager. Mr. dd told me to ask y'all. I'm not quite sure WHY he wanted to know, since he is NEVER the one who vacs or dusts. But I will be happy to report that the general concensus was with my method. Has he not learned by now that I'm always right??:floor:
Audie, I need more hard core instruction....haven't learned yet..
RO..
And SJ, from your last post, I think mr. dd figured that one out a long time ago.. :bang: :D :floor:

:lolabove: I am LMAO because that is exactly what MANgo had out this morning sitting on the back deck. :funn:

Yesterday spent the day cleaning, was going to have a baby crawling around, so spent extra attention to the hardwood floors.

MANgo: Do you want me to mop?
ME: Well I vacuumed the floors really well with the vacuum that could suck up a mole from a hole, and mopped a few days ago. But if you want to mop it again, be my guest.
MAN-go: Do you need the baby gate?
Me: Yes, where did you put it?

Wake up to an industrial sized bucket that could hold enuf water for a small swimming pool, a mop that I would have needed a crane to lift.
Me:

Then I hear banging, and out comes a homemade baby gate he made out of wood that matches the stairwell which is being attached to my wall with nails.

To say the least, I had very clean floors done in about 3 minutes, and NO ONE could get past the baby gate. :floor:

I think someone in your house deserves an "A" for effort.

That's why Mr. OM does the dusting, vacuuming AND has a HUGE industrial size mop bucket that he mops the rest of the house while I have the kiddies elsewhere!:floor: :floor: :floor: :floor: :floor:

BTW, he dusts & vacuums every d*** day! ;-)

If you wanted him to do your house every other day, rather than every day, he is welcome to come vacuum and dust my house on the off days.

BTW, what does he think about being called, "Mr. Organic Mama?" :floor: That will teach him for being a rockstar. :funn:

:funn: :funn: :funn: :funn: :funn: :funn: On the off days, I'm Mrs. Rockstar, so it all balances out.

He'd probably say, he'd clean your house AFTER he did his daily morning chores here. He literally gets up, has coffee and starts his rounds. Every day.

I totally appreciate having a husband who can take care of everything (only because he wants to!), as my dad is the opposite... he can't boil freakin' water! I don't even think he knows how to run a vacuum, what dusting means or where the washer/dryer is located in the house!

I can relate regarding dads. My dad's idea of cooking is opening a box of Frosted Flakes, or breaking out the peanut butter and crackers. The guy can operate a huge farm, rebuild a tractor, or build a house, but he has no idea what the buttons on appliances do or how the appliances function. Now if the vacuum wasn't working, he could probably repair it, but that would be the extent of it. Of course, he could direct someone else in proper operation of said appliances.

That's my dad, Mr. John Deere (literally!). He grew up on a dairy farm & worked for JD his whole life, even now after he's retired... but he can't even open Frosted Flakes. His idea of self-cooked dinner is PB mixed in with jelly, until they came out with that already mixed stuff they tried to pass off as mixed PB&J in the 80's.

He used to direct me, being the solo female child. :idontno: It's why I became a PITA for him, probably. :funn:

No doubt. and to boot he heated up the ham, helped with appetizers, brought all extra chairs upstairs, and even decorated some eggs. :D
Oh, and helped clean up the table after dinner.

I think I'll keep him. ;-)
