Six Flags over Georgia

I will be making my first trip to Six Flags Over Georgia for the first time in 33+/- years, this weekend Mar 17&18. Any suggestions?

I don't really care for anything else but RollerCoasters. However I do like to see shows if they are worth it. Nothing bothers me more than missing ride time because of a lame show.

Also what about food? Is it standard 'fair' or is there a hot spot in the park I should hit?

I figure I'll hit the park for a few hours in the morning/afternoon before my concert, then again on Sunday morning/afternoon before driving home that night. I don't want to waste my time on boring rides or events so I'm looking for all the 'must see' and 'must do' stuff.

Other than Mango, has anyone esle seen Josh Groban in concert? She's says its going to be incredible!

I've only been to the Six Flags in Texas and Jersey, so can't help you with shows or dining. Some families I did notice brought their own lunches and went back out to the parking area to eat and I think they had tables around.
Food was expensive in the Texas Park, and there were long lines and it wasn't that grayt. I went on a busy HOT, HOT day with my nephews.

Can't hurt to pack a cooler and leave it in the car. :idontno: or go somehwere else for eats before the concert. Nothing worse than having odjida before seeing Groban.;-)

Have not been to Six Flags in probably 10 years, but always loved it!! Have a blast and post your trip report. I also remember the food at the park being quite good, but it was ten years ago.

Thanks!
When Six Flags took over Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, they ruined it. It used to be full of local color and flavor, then in became commercial and the food quality and cleanliness of the park went way down. Since then Six Flags has bought, ruined and closed down the park in Houston and New Orleans. And now six more of their parks are scheduled to get the ax! Yet all I've heard about Atlanta is good stuff. It should be fun nonetheless!:rolling:

Thanks Franny! I'm looking forward to it! I'll report in on Monday!

Oh, so that was it.
Although, I still think eating theme park food before you go see Groban is like having a full breakfast before taking communion.
Isn't that in the handbook Kenny?

I had the Cliffs Notes version of the Handbook:eek:

I'm the one that went to Burger King before Barbara Streisand! and went to Journey/Def Leppard in the same Phillips Arena in the same weekend! I don't follow the rules too well.

But I think I'll skip the park food before Groban! thanks.....

I'm guilty too. Was late for a daytime show on Broadway, we were starving, my sister and I ran into Burger King across the street, grabbed McNuggets and threw them in our handbags. We had orchestra seats. Should have seen the looks we got from the people sitting next to us. :floor:

Been there, but it must have been back in the late 1980's since my last trip. I grew too tall for the fun rides, with the safety latches becoming more like pain in the U-NO-WHAT Latches. :bang: Back then, the prices for food were outrageous. Once there, you probably will not want to leave then come back for the day -- much effort and time consumption. I'm sure that you will find decent sandwiches and compared to food at the beach, you might think it is a bargain. Please report back to us, and enjoy the rides for those of us who cannot.

Here is my advice (went last year). BUY ONE OF THOSE 'GO TO THE HEAD OF THE LINE' PASSES! It will cost you dearly (I think about $60-$90) BUT, you will ride on at least twice as many rides than if you tough it out in the lines. It makes the day so much more pleasant!:clap_1: You can usually score a day pass discount by bringing a Coke can to the ticket office, too. The food is pretty bad and expensive, but who goes there to eat?
