Our 15 year old has her learner permit.

We're deciding what kind of sign to put on the car when she is driving. For example, the magnetic ones or the "top hat" kind. :idontno:

Any input from ya'll is welcome.

Is it a requirement now, or you just want it for safety purposes?

How about the one that's on the back of fuel trucks,
like "Keep Back At Least 300 Feet"!!

I remember how I was chomping at the bit to get my license when I was 15. Now I don't think they should have 'em till they're 25! If then!

We used the magnetic signs that said "Student Driver" when our two were learning. Of course they DIDN'T want them on the car so we had to be very discreet about it. We'd put them on the car when the kids weren't looking, and took them off immediately afterwards. Kids are very sensitive to the "cool" factor, you know, and being advertized as a newbie driver just ain't cool.

Jeez, are those signs really neccesary? It isn't like fellow motorists provide any additional courtesy to those drivers ed cars...I think they provide a mobile advertisment for the driving school as much as anything else.

I dunno, I probably should've had a sign. It's a good thing my dad taught me too cuz my mom would've never let me wear the hat or have the windows down.

Wait...

That might be why I can't drive. I always thought it was because I learned to drive in the DC Metro area! :idontno:

How's my driving? Call 1 800 mom dad.:lolabove:

Franny! In all due seriousness, that's a grayt idea. Of course you would need 7 numbers/letters, such as "Call 1(800)mom-Ndad" or
"Call 1(800)PARENTS"

Here's how it would work. Parents would call the oranization. Register their license plate number, code it in with the parents phone number.

When a vigilant motorist spots improper driving by a 'student' driver, they could call 1(800)Parents, and the call would be rerouted to either the parents or a service that would relay the message to the parents.

The parents can then track down their kid, take the keys away, and slap the crap out of them!

Or you could just live in a small town like I do where everybody knows everyone. No need announce a new driver as the whole town already knows.

My girls always told me what they did because someone would tell me about it anyway. This may be why they chose to go to college 450 miles from home!:lolabove: They finally got a little privacy.
