I was just sitting here wondering what everyone's vacation schedule is looking like. ...Residents of SoWal need not reply.

3500 engineers just in Chicago???? Yikes! I'm afraid I haven't been watching the news much lately - must have missed that story. I hope his job is safe JR. And that you make it to Sowal, too!!!!!

I think it is 1,500 layoffs. I had the # wrong. They do this every couple of years. Have huge layoffs, clean house, then hire younger, college graduates at a much cheaper rate after a year or so. Mr. JR has always survived the layoffs, but the downfall to all this is he ends up having to work more hours to replace the ones they've laid off. Sort of a catch 22. We just get nervous and vacations, large purchases, have to be put on hold.

You see this all over corporate America unfortunately. It feels like a slap on the face - work for me 20 years and oops - now I can get someone younger and cheaper.

I think March has morphed into April; just found out I have to work--yes, I said work--at the end of the month, so that puts us into April.

June 9-16 back to the Grayton duplex a stone's throw from Washaway. Then we move out and move into John R's while he's in the mountains, ostensibly to care for his dogs and house, but really to use the washer and dryer.

i want to do the May stretch, would be the celebration of our first anniversary but sadly, we cannot. trust me, it hurts. real bad.
