I found a link with some interesting background info on the VT shooter, Cho. It includes links to a couple of Cho's plays which he wrote. -- somewhat disturbing, but perhaps not too far off the norm for many people growing up. Also has references on Ismail AX, written on Cho's arm. Reading through some of this sheds much more light on the subject. Keep in mind that reports are that Cho had taken meds for depression, and one of the side effects of Prozac is possible increased violence.
Here are a couple of snippits from the link, regarding Ismail AX's potential meanings:
"Shah [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ismail_I"]Ismail I[/ame] was the muslim founder of Safavid Dynasty of Iran. He also apparently dabbled in poetry..
Mən pirimi hak bilirəm,
Yoluna qurban oluram,
D?n doğdum bug?n ?l?rəm,
?lən gəlsin iştə meydan.
I know the Truth as my supreme guide,
I would sacrifice myself in his way,
I was born yesterday, I will die today,
Come, whoever would die, here is the arena.
or,
from the book, ISHMAEL, by E.D.E.N. Southworth
"But there, my dear! that boy has slipped out, and is cutting the wood; I'll go and do it for him," said Reuben, as the sound of Ishmael's ax fell upon his ears.
Hannah arose and followed Gray to the door, and there before it stood Ishmael, chopping away at random, upon the pile of wood, his cheeks flushed with fever and his eyes wild with excitement.
"Hannah, he is ill; he is very ill; he doesn't well know what he is about," said Reuben, taking the ax from the boy's hand. "
