You are talking about a court of law right? Could you not say the same thing about the police officer? In the court of public opinion I am wondering why there is hardly any mention of the female victim. Is she not worthy of at least a phone call?
What is your point? I never said the police officer is guilty just we do know for a fact he shot Blake seven times in the back. It is not disputed. Perhaps you could reach out to her.

Why are you deflecting this so much? Sexual assault is a terrible thing and should be prosecuted as fully as possible. It is simply not the same as attempted murder BY A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. When you have multiple and continuing incidents of murder by people who have a sworn duty to protect and serve all people in the community, that is a corruption of the entire system not just one bad person.

“Let me just say at the outset that the president has said so many things that are fallacious, outrageous, hyperbolic, that they now fail to shock anymore. Maybe [GOP consultant] Rick Tyler is correct and this will resonate and maybe it will resonate not just with military people but with the large majority of Americans who support the military, who understand what the military does and what the military has been doing since the inception of the country for our freedom.”

“But the president has said so many things that are outrageous that now it almost fails to shock, and it would be interesting to see what is the fallout, if any, from this,” he continued. “I’ve spoken to a lot of people who work directly for the president who reiterate exactly what Jeffrey Goldberg said in that article, who said the president has no respect for people in uniform, no respect for people who have served and, most significantly, does not understand the notion of being part of something that’s larger than yourself.”

Is it a deflection? I just would like to know why neither political candidate reached out to the alleged victim. Is that not a legitimate question?

Poppaj just pointed out that in a court of law we are innocent until "proven" guilty. The police officer is therefore innocent until convicted of attempted murder. The court of public opinion convicted the police officer and we all understand why but why has no one reached out to the victim? My point is that I wonder why there is no mention of the victim. Does the court of public opinion give Jacob Blake a pass for some reason. In my humble opinion I would prosecute sexual assault exactly the same as 2nd degree murder (not attempted murder) but that is me. Of course I do understand the complexity of sexual assault cases so I am thinking in terms of ideals not realities. I read the report of the victim and it was pretty horrible and speaks to the entire spectrum of objectification of women.

Would you like the candidates to meet with all the nation’s sexual assault victims Or just this one? Why is there no mention of them? Why are you singling out this one victim? Again, Jacob Blake was shot by a law enforcement officer. That is what makes this a community issue not just a random heinous crime.

Yes, I believe it should be an issue and I hope that Biden does not avoid it. Since he called Jacob Blake I was surprised he did not call the woman who was allegedly sexually assaulted by Blake. Can't we have a conscience that is not affected by politics?
