Everybody seems to be proclaiming there's no solution to the shutdown and that's utter bullcrap. The House has passed a package of bills re-opening most all the government, without funding for the wall, and all that has to happen is the Senate needs to pass them, and send them to the president for signing. If the drumpf vetoes it, it goes back to the senate and needs only 16 more votes to over-ride the veto. THERE ARE 16 REPUBLICANT MORONS who are sending this country into the abyss. I really try to avoid being an alarmist, but NPR had a rundown of just some of the ramifications of the shutdown. Air traffic control, TSA screening, border patrol funding, FDA inspections of our food and drug supply, federally funded cancer research, possible crippling of ongoing Federal investigations,... this is a whole lot more than just 800,000 workers without one or two paychecks, even though the fallout from that will also be immense. This ploy by drumpf and the Republicant leadership seems like a big vanity stunt, but it's a lot more serious than that. This is extortion, and a form of terrorism. You do not negotiate with terrorists, or they will just keep using that tactic over and over again.

Just got notice that my Coast Guard disability retired pay will be affected if this thing continues. President Russian Asset is has gone from “I alone can fix it” to “I alone am not responsible.”

Had a nice talk with my neighbor last night who informed me he voted for President Russian Asset. He has grown sick of his lies and buffoonery and now believes he should be impeached. I hope there are many more who believe likewise.

A port is a harbor, border town, or airport by which people and goods may enter a country.

What you are neglecting to mention as well is, that most illegal immigrants who came to this country without proper documentation DID NOT cross the Mexican border at all. Most of them come to the United States legally and then don't leave. (Visa overstays!) About 700,000 travelers to the United States overstayed their visas in fiscal 2017 according to Homeland Security!

There were just 300,000 apprehensions (meaning they were caught) along the Southern border, according to Customs and Border Protection, the lowest number since 1971.

Regarding your comment about the total number of "adults apprehended"... that means they were CAUGHT and are NOT here illegally but were sent back to their country of origin!
