St. Louis nosed out its World Series rival, Detroit, for the dubious distinction of having the highest rate of violent crime for any city in the United States. The level of crime there was more than 40 times that of the nation's safest city, Brick Township, New Jersey.

When my husband asked me to marry him, I took a map, drew a 200 mile radius around ATL, I said that if we didn't live in that circle, I didn't want to marry him. The exception was NOLA, which is now so effed up that I'm glad we didn't make that choice. We're about 50 miles from the ATL airport, so I'd say he kept his promise.

When Merman asked me to marry him, I handed him a calendar and drew a 20" radius around the summer months and said if he couldn't marry within that circle, I couldn't do it.
