We have in our development an unidentified animal coming into our pool area at night probably to get water since the drought. He's leaving stool in the pool and we've had to have the pool company come out and do their thing several times already outside of regular cleaning and maintenance.
My neighbor whose a full timer wants to buy a humane trap and to relocate it when caught into the Grayton forest Preserve area.

Does anyone know who we would call? I'd prefer someone who can check and make sure the animal isn't a mother and also place it somewhere they believe most fitting than doing this solo.
We have no idea what type of animal it is, and we're pretty sure it's not a person.

What if it's a bear? :funn:

I don't know of any animal relocation specialists off the top of my head. Do you have a good guess at the animal type, judging by the poop?

You could try putting a bowl of fresh water outside of the pool fence for the critter and you wouldn't have to relocate the animal and hopefully that would stop the pooping in the pool.

If you could find someone to do it, relocating would be an excellent idea for the animal's safety since it is getting fairly close to traffic on 30-A. Also, at some point, a person will encounter this animal and get bitten or scratched if that person is an idiot and tries to mess with it. Then of course, you always have the group of people that will do stupid things (like touching wild animals) and then sue the homeowners.:bang:

I'll ask around.

 I heard the stools were pretty big. Wonder if they could climb over a fence?
Last year it was an armadillo, but that one went away by itself.

Thanks.:D That's my concern, someone messing with it or accidentally running into it. We suspect a raccoon (s).

I'm sure you're looking for a serious answer, but between the doody in the pool and a reference to a maintenance guy and all the discussion of animal control, all I can think of is Bill Murray in "Caddyshack..."

I'm betting on the critter being a Racoon or a big oppossum.

Ah not exactly, (said sheepishly)

Actually, I have been out enjoying myself far too much of late and well the combination of alcohol, Mexican food, and the long drive back home sometimes catches up to me.

Mango,...........I am the Pool Pooper.

It is just too convenient to stagger over there and re-hydrate after all that red wine and then well, take care of other business.

Sorry.

I had my suspicians 30gAy. :nono1: Lyrics from the Poopy song left by the garbage. I was just trying to make you "come out" and tell the truth.

Now next time before you go out, seal that a$$ with some spackle.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission would be a good contact. They can be found online. I don't have the info handy.
I hope it's not a bear pooping in your pool. :yikes:
