i love these stories - i find it so interesting how people meet, and most esp. how people really didn't think they would like their future spouses....in our case opposites truly did attract...

it is very interesting how people meet. I know I was NOT looking for anyone special, and not planning to get married any time soon, if ever...

I grew up as best friends with my wife's brother through grade school and high school. We always saw each other but never were interested in each other. Her family went to California in the summer of 1973 and Pat and her brother stayed home because of work. I spent the 2 whole weeks there while the parents and younger siblings were gone. Had dinner every night because she was such a good cook and we started dating after her parents got home. The rest is history. Our first date was a James Taylor concert and we are still going strong. 4 kids and 8 grandkids later.

Me too! I had just spent 6 years with someone & wasn't looking for anything any time soon... AND I had sworn I'd never fall for a musician, although my 6 years with an accounting student was HELL! I had left Athens after graduation and was working in Whole Foods in Atlanta. Hubby began working there part-time because he owned his own business, but needed benefits. It was    at first sight, but I was too stubborn to admit it and gave him the run around for a minute. He didn't tell me he sang until later, after I was already hooked! Almost 7 years later, I am so happy I fell for the music man!

Me three!
He brought his youth group to a youth event at my church, and we worked concessions together. We'd heard about one another, but that was it. Tie night might have been a bit of a set up through mutual friends. New to the area, he asked if i wanted to hang out sometime and gallantly offered me his number, to which I replied, "You're supposed to take MY number!" Two days later he called, 5 days after that we went out (Friday the 13th, no less!). I thought we were just "hanging out" and found out about 30 minutes into our "hanging out" that we were on a date! I asked, "how was your day," and he laughed because he thought I asked, "how was your date?" and his reply was, "I'll tell you in a couple of hours." THAT'S how I knew it was a date!

Said I'd never marry a pastor, and look what I did...
Almost 9 months strong ;)

I sat a couple rows behind him in the most boring World History class in college (it was right after lunch so I was trying not to fall asleep!)

I remember being totally fascinated by this big head of strawberry blonde hair, and just staring at the back of his head. Later that semester a friend introduced us at a dance.
