Democrats seem not to comprehend how and why this election will be so close. Trump does not need bridges because he has something that is not that hard to understand. He has an enthusiastic base of support that will act as a human bridge. He has power available to him that he will abuse to no limits. I think Biden is doing a good job in campaigning the difference between him and Trump. I am not sure that will be enough. Trump supporters are making a statement about how fed up they are with government telling them they have to do or not do something. They are fed up with politicians who are not representing their interest. The conservative movement is pushing back on the liberal movement and it seems to have fallen in Trumps lap. I think it started with religion but now it has grown into a full blown armada of support from small businesses to large corporations, rural to urban and just about every other neighbor that we know. I have traveled from coast to coast over the last 4 years and I see enthusiastic Trump flags and bumper stickers everywhere. Democrats are depending on the facts of why Trump does not have character standards that should be required to represent us. Trump does not need good character to win this election. As wrong or sad as that is, it seems to be a fact. I wish I was wrong about this but I am seeing more support for Trump not less even with all these things that he says and does that normally cost political candidates an election. Trump supporters eye's are wide shut on the subject of character, abuse of power and authoritarian rule. At some point democrats will have to find a way to connect to these people. The mistake would be to write them off as blind. They can see but we have to find a way to open their eyes.
 
Man goes on record saying trump purposely downplayed pandemic. He gave Bob Woodward permission to record his firsthand knowledge the president lied to the public about the dangers of Covid. The Republican defense will be this man is a documented liar so you can’t trust anything he says.

Edit: Sure enough the press secretary is already basically claiming he’s lying.

Why are democrats so surprised and upset at what Trump said about the military. I thought democrats want to decrease military spending, decrease law enforcement spending and believe in peace not war as opposed to republicans. You know just let society work out the problems with criminals and other countries. No wonder fear and panic works for Trump! Democrats or is it liberals, sorry I get the ideology confused with the politics sometimes, need to get it together and focus on the election instead of the big bad wolf. If the democratic party does not understand why people vote for Trump then they have become so elite in their beliefs they may never really connect with Trumps base. In my opinion I do not believe the democrats care about connecting to anyone in Trumps base. The people fear socialism and communism like in Cuba, Russia, Venezuela etc. Hispanics fear. Americans fear. African Americans fear. They also fear being attacked by criminals, Antifia and riot violence. I think Biden/Harris are doing everything right so far but their supporters are dropping the ball. I promise I am not picking on Poppaj or Lotb but they do represent a mindset of a liberal elite group who believe that the democratic party has ALL the right answers to a Better America. Neither Biden or Harris are in that group in my opinion. I believe Biden is trying to connect with Trump supporters and doing every thing he can but that liberal elite group is determined to attack not just Trump but about half of the people in this country. If I thought that liberal ideals would fix all our problems in society I would be the one flying that flag but it doesn't. People are complex. We are producers and consumers. We are good and bad. We need to feel safe and represented. We need to be progressive and conservative. This election should be a landslide for Biden but it will not be because we are a complex species. The two party system gives us a choice between progressive ideals and conservative ideals yet we the people are both. Whatever party can manipulate fear and panic generally wins. Don't make it so easy for Trump. Stop attacking the character of Trump supporters. Why do all this back and forth? Trump is a terrible leader and has bad character. We got it!!! Do liberal elites think they could all be President because that is how you come across. Many of you are not sold on Biden running this country either. Is it even possible for you to connect to anyone but those that think just like you? I think the two party system has created an inevitable problem with division in this country and Trump is going to manipulate it to no limits. You are making it too easy for Donald Trump and all his enthusiastic supporters. This thread and others seems to focus on disrespect for both Trump and Trump supporters. That is a mistake in my opinion because it just brings out negative behavior in people. I believe you are playing with fire and need to learn how to be respectful even when hiding behind a computer and using fake names. As Poppaj would say this is too many words trying to say be more respectful and good things will happen :)
 
There's a huge difference between military budget cuts and flat out disrespect. You're doing exactly what the GOP has down for years equating budget cuts to disrespect, all the while sneering and spitting on public servants. Same as "defund the police".
