I'd actually have been pleased if he'd done it at a mosque - it would have been a major show of intelligence* and standing up to the "Christian" mafia that seems bent on taking over politics.

The sphincter clenching and head explosions from the idiots would have been worth it.

Of course, such a thing would never be allowed. :roll:

*Our budget would have gotten at least 10 hours of coverage on Fox News and would have been reported much more broadly in other venues!

Those "christians" don't share my religion or my god. Many Muslims do. Many Jews do. Many Buddhists do. Most of the people who wrote our Constitution did.

You know, there was a time not too long ago when many traditional Protestant denominations were firm in their beliefs that Catholics could never be good Americans because they claimed their faith required them to put being an American second to being a good Catholic.

I'm just sayin' it's a far more complex historical question than it seems at first glance.
