"who will stand up for our constitution before god"???? bob, book of observations

Hi Bob. I think I understand your question and why you ask it to provoke some thinking. In my way of thinking, God doesn't give a rip about our govt or our constitution. All of that stuff is ours to establish and do our best to govern for the people, by the people. I think God leaves all that to us to decide how to best live and govern and treat earth and raise children and worship and build and travel and explore lands and the universe

He also leaves it to us to be leaders, contributors, artists, scientists, explorers, healers, teachers, etc. The question is, what kind of leader (governor) can really represent & lead the people regardless of what kind of religious or other beliefs the people of the great state of Florida may hold?

We are each too complex to define ourselves so narrowly. I am an Italian American LaxCatholic but what does any of that matter? I want a leader who can truly look upon all faiths and people and represent them well.

Bob - if I know you, you don't expect anyone to really answer the question. Its a trick! If you DO answer the queston, then you are a dumba$$!!!

Bob, maybe you should have made this into a poll. Obviously you put a lot of people on the spot.
funny thing about folks who say they are christian. they believe in their religion out of fear of punishment, and they are afraid their beliefs do not measure up to logic. they wish to mold government to favor the flock. they are quick to judge others of differing religions/beliefs as being unpatriotic but do not have the self awareness to see themselves as the main irritant to intellectual and cultural freedom. and the whole circus is perpetuated in a tax free environment of prejudice and ignorance.

the question is put out there to generate introspection. when you put god before country, you are now geometrically ramping up the propensity for conflict.

This only applies to SOME christians.

I have been trying, in vain, to come up with a sensible answer to what I considered an insensible question and, could not for the life of me, do so. I thank you most sincerely for putting the proper perspective and creating a reasonable answer to the questions posed.
It doesn't matter who you are or what your religious, political or moral beliefs are, no one is going to satisify you 100% of the time, not even yourself. It is my belief that most of those elected try to do their utmost best or they wouldn't have run for office in the first place. Once again, many will disagree and that is their right. I know only one thing. Having lived in many, many different places I have only seen one that allows me to live most of the time as I, and I alone, desire. That place is right here...South Walton County in the United States of America. May it always be so.

I think this: God being God has no need of an ego and therefore does not need us to put Him before doing the very best for our country or humanity or our earth. I think he puts us first and expect us to do same for each other.

this is very philosophical.

I think a lot of people are afraid of retribution from their god if they were to say they put the constitution first, yet they don't want to come out and admit publicly that they put their god before country and the Constitution. It's an easy question to answer if you either don't believe in a deity, or you believe, but aren't afraid of him/her.

It's also an easy question if you have the education to know that our country's core laws are not based on just one religion and the intelligence to think that should continue.

My religion doesn't feel the need to rewrite history to justify political isms.
