CNN's "Black in America" Series

New posts
CNN and Soledad are watched by me strictly for comedic purposes. Did you see her a while back @ one of Reverend Wright's tour de forces? She was giddy about his comments. And speaking of the reverend (who Obama could no more dis-own than his own grandmother), what island did Obama's campaign sequester him to? They did a nice job wiping that guy off the map!

Ummm, yeah, we do live in whitebread USA here, not too many Whoopis (or is that Whoopies?) are going to weigh in.

Are you sure? I heard Whoopi owns a house in Seaside. Or was it Rosemary? ;-)

Go to the CNN website and look at their iReport link. A CNN reporter just said that the "Black in America" series is by far the most popular iReport topic that they've ever had.

A black man was being interviewed on TV the other day. He objected to the series because he said that they only featured the more shocking cases -- that black men like him who have good jobs and are good fathers and husbands aren't included in the show because they aren't interesting enough.

Bingo!!!
News stories IMO are never going to be anything other than dirty laundry and anything that will shock the american public.
My stomach turns and I can't change the channel fast enough every time I see a headline or a story about some shocking behavior that will no doubt enrage some social or ethnic group.
We don't need this. We need to see how we can all get along.

Before this thread shreds into an unfortunate compilation of white guilt....can we please hear from some African Americans on this topic??

I will tell you how this thread will end up...too, too many Elizabeth Hasslebecks chimming in, and no Whoopi Goldbergs anywhere in sight.????
About 2 years ago I "adopted" a 45 year old man whose progenitors were transplanted to the USA. I no longer suffer from "white guilt", I just pay it protection money. $212.32 monthly with COLA adjustments tied to inflation. Anyone else interested in being free?

I am starting to feel like the token "Whoopi" lately on the boards. You can count on me to represent...
