Come to the beach with me!

New posts
I started South Beach a year ago on the 9th of this month. So far I have lost 49 lbs. I went a little over the edge during the holiday's and just started back yesterday getting serious again. I only gained back 4 lbs though, so that is not bad. It is a lifestyle change for me and it is the only thing that has ever worked for me. I still need to loose about 25 lbs. I have a Bowflex and started back with my workouts last night. We can all do this. A good support group helps. Good to luck to all of us!!!!

have you been exercising too? How many grams of fat are you trying to stay at or under? Years ago before my son was born (& after - before all the fast food started happening) I counted my sat. fat and I felt wonderful and lost all the baby weight. My biggest problem now is my husband and son don't like to eat the healthy stuff. I end up giving in to them and eat what they want.

kathy...49 lbs

I know. Imagine what 49 pounds of hamburger meat looks like.
That puts her weight loss into perspective.

Yes -I have faithfully been riding my exercycle 30-45 mins a day (a real challenge after my back surgery in 2004. I have permanent nerve damage in my left leg and my surgeon never recommended any physical therapy. Riding the bike was so hard at first but my leg feels so much better now. Took me several weeks to work up to over a half hour - the first few times I could barely go 10 minutes.)

I try to stay under 30 grams a day, but I find it pretty easy to stay closer to 20 grams. I've always found it easier to count fat grams rather than calories. I know what you mean about getting the family to eat "the healthy stuff." Which is why I just cook for myself after they're done - I can't force the hubby to join me (though he's getting curious now.) Thank goodness I've gotten past the temptation of all the junk food that's still in the house!
